I learned in Moab that between you, Bob and I, we can get pretty much anything off the trail and back home. If anything catastrophic happens, I'll just put a free sign on it and ride home with you.

From all the trip reports I see it looks like 3 days is good on the trail. Let me know if I am wrong on that.

That sounds good. One day travel if you drive through. It took us 16 hrs up, and 18 back with a power steering pump repair on the way back. 14 hrs with minimal stopping is doable. It is one long drive though, maybe a short napping stop. Three days is about right to see the trail.

Last time there we saw, and spotted, stock Rubicon JKs on the trail. Trail rated remember....

I could do 14 hours, but I'm sleeping as long as I want before we hit the trail.. lol

Yeah. No kidding

Wussies. It was 18 hours to the Bridgeport race, straight through. 24 hrs back due to only having 2nd gear. Drive with a buddy, take shifts.

Chris, if I can make the trip you can ride shotgun and share the drive. I HATE long drives.

I'd share the drive, but my wife nor I are comfortable with her driving my truck while pulling a jeep behind..

Daniel, your truck will look just as good with Rubicon rock scratches.

Updated orig post with the dates
Dates: Saturday Aug 31st- Sat Sept 7th

The plan: Leave AZ early on Saturday and drive... and drive... and drive some more.
Wheel on Mon, Tues, Wed,
Drive home on Thurs-Friday
I have it listed till Sat so that if something comes up and we want an extra day to see something we have it.

We can make changes as needed. This will give people solid dates to plan around.

I assume the trail is an in and out type deal? Or can we make a loop out of it? Do we have planned camp spots? Any sources for water?

Thats a good question (s)

I believe its an in one side out the other trail.
Water- bring your own. There is streams and lakes but dont plan for that to be your sources.
Camping on the trail is open form what I was reading. Im still reading up in it.

If we don't loop it I'll be doing an up and back (up with the crew and back as quickly as possible to my tow rig).

I have an open seat (only 1) if anyone wants to ride with me. If not, I'll pack it with gear.
