2013 year of the Rubicon - Sat Aug 31st - Sat Sept 7th
#1
Its on!
Dates: Friday night Aug 30th- Sat Sept 7th

The plan: Leave AZ late Friday night and drive... and drive... and drive some more.
Wheel on Mon, Tues, Wed,
Drive home on Thurs-Friday
I have it listed till Sat so that if something comes up and we want an extra day to see something we have it.

A place to talk about, dream about, BS about, plan for and back out of a week on the Rubicon.

Having never been on the Con I would love to do this trail and have almost talked myself into wheeling the Dodge. Body panels be damned! Then I find myself looking on CL for something more built.

Meh...

So who wants to do the Con in 2013?

Info:
14 hour drive from Chandler aprox 800 miles one way

So in. Chelcee and I have talked about it, and assuming my current job holds out we should be able to afford it. If we go, I will be wheeling the truck, so there is some work that'll have to be done... sliders, upgraded/added skid plates, at least one locker(probably front), trim the rear 1/4 panels up to body line to fit custom rear bumper, and a winch would be awesome but probably won't happen. I will also collect spare parts for those "watch this" moments.

Hey, the "watch this" moments are the BEST!! :-) just sayin. On that note, not sure if I'm in to many changes ahead for me to make this kind of commitment.

Is there a target date? I want to go to ALL of the events, but I have to bid for vacation days.
#13
What were you thinking Bob? July/August?
#14
X2 on dates and planning.

As far as "I can't make it" dates... Memorial Day weekend is my wedding anniversary and July 4th holiday weekend is Ivan's birthday (the 3rd) so those are blocked family holiday/weekends. Other than that... summertime is always awesome.

I hate you.

Can you make it Easter?

I might be in. I have a buddy who lives just East of Tahoe. A great show up and crash point. Only a short 30-50 min drive to the trail. Also, don't forget about Fordyce....

I have a family vacation late July. 21st through 27th I think.

I have some other things but no dates, and I can work them around this trip. ...unless my bro-in-law gets married, but he has yet to put a ring on it.
