I'm camping. I'm also going to fish with the boys if we dont catch anything we are going to the trout farm.
#22
Well... the trout farm will cost you and arm and TWO legs (per child), but we'll bring some poles along incase we accidentally start to fish! You can count us in as camping, if the group decides to camp.

The wife an I might make it. Still looking at the calendar though. I'll let ya know....
#24
You have no idea how bad I want to go but it will not happen untill after the baby is born. We only have 45 more days and then I can start camping again, this winter I want to do some more snow camping with the dogs.

You know I like seeing the same movie more than once. Don't worry we won't use up all the outdoors without you.

I just spoke with Maggie at http://www.sedonajeeprentals.com/ there are no fire restrictions at Sedona. She said the two best trails are Broken Arrow:
and Soldier Pass Road. She said it would take about 4 hours to run both trails. Just thought I would pass this along.
#31
Chris what time did you plan on leaving Sat?
#32
I took Sat off, so let's make the most of it

Taken from AZbackcountry.com

Broken Arrow: 2.5+
Broken Arrow is a fun trail with great scenery. A stock 4x4 can make this run and there are areas for those with built rigs to test and flex their suspension, such as the Crack. Pay attention to the signs, as part of this trail is a one-way loop.

A lot of Pink Jeeps share the trail so please put your best foot forward while representing our sport. For many of the passengers on those Jeep tours, you are the first real off-roader they have ever seen. You will find that most of the pink drivers are pretty cool!

The Devil's Staircase is fun, and some members have been known to run it bottom-to-top. If you do, please post a look-out at the top to prevent someone from coming down while you are trying to go up.

It usually takes a couple of hours to make the loop, which allows ample time for pictures and a stop at Chicken Point for lunch.

If you plan to hike or walk around much, you may want to purchase a Red Rock Pass. You can preorder them here:
Red Rock Pass

Soilder Pass: 3.0
If your looking for a fun drive but don't have much time, try this short route. This trip offers two interesting features: the stair-stepped Seven Apache Pools and the Unusual Devil's Kitchen. Challenges are exciting without being overwhelming.

Many Steep, rocky steps; however, articulation demands are minimal. Many stock high-clearance vehicles can make it.

The trail is less than one mile long, Add a little mileage for the two side trips. Can be driven in less than an hour.

Greasy Spoon: 3.5
Steep descents and climbs over rocky terrain. The first part of the trail is easy when dry, but slippery and difficult when wet. Don't drive this trail on a rainy day. Route finding can be confussing at times, becuase of the numerous side roads. Suitable for stock high-clearance SUV's when dry.

More remote and less traveled than other Sedona trails

Schnebly Hill Road: 2.0+
Towering red rock buttes set against a backdrop of deep-green forest and clear blue sky makes this on of Arizona's most photogenic. Memorable hiking trails leave from all directions from the road

Signs recommend no cars, but cars can make the drive in good weather. Expect a very bumpy ride, even at 5mph.

12 miles one-way, can be driven in an hour, but there's much to see.

The elder Kuipers should be coming with kids too.

Being a (slightly) overweight, southern, "old guy".... I vote for Cracker Barrel at I-17 and Deer Valley<big grin>... nothing says good morning like a big plate of heart attack inducing biscuits and gravy! Tasty!!!
