Build the Dodge?
#41
I was getting a nasty howl from the rear end. I figured it was time for another service and to have it looked at. Found out that the center pin in the carrier is getting loose. Its not something to replace asap but it will need a rebuild/new stuff before long.
Time to start looking for some 60’s

Need to find a Ram 2500 with a V10 or Diesel. Never knew that the 95-2001 3500 were only in DRW...

I know where you will be able to get an aluminum full float D60 soon... Just sayin'

BLING!

I say build it too! But, keep it realistic for what yer gonna do, and don't settle.

My next rig will be a hunting truck. 70s-80s quad cab, standard trans, smallblock, 60+14bff, 37" military tires on H1 wheels. Custom bed just big enough to hold a quad, shortened wheelbase to where the 37 almost rubs the cab. I figure somewhere around 115-120" wb, lift for around 18-20" belly pan clearance, simple leafs- Chev 63s if they'll fit the bob. Winch on front, smaller ATV winch in bed. Simple strong and capable.

Sounds like you have a great plan.
I will be keeping it simple and strong.
#45
haha, there's one down the road from me that is a perfect starting platform. It already has the 60 in front, standard trans and smallblock. It also has a custom bed, but needs to be modified highly to fit my purpose. Anyway, great canvas, and it's cool you will be building a Dodge.

I thought about building the Ramcharger for the hunting truck, but it just doesn't fit my situation like the quad cab would, with the 440, auto, and no bed space... Anyway, good luck on your build!

Bob, are you "building the dodge" or "dodging the build"?

Upgrade as needed. At this time all is working ... $$$ is being spent on fixing the house.

I think this mod just took priority over every other mod. lol Sooo sexy.

This should help widen your choices for finding D60's in the 2nd gens.

Ok so Moab is a go and the Dodge it the my rig.
I have 4 months to complete the needed work.

What needs to be done:
CB
A tire unless I find 4 at the same price...
New head unit (CD with MP3 hookup)
Shocks (would be nice but not a must)
Tune up. Needs new wires and plugs
axle seal

That should be about it for the needs.

Want:
rear locker
sliders

I know where you can buy a custom aluminum D60 RockJock with an ARB locker...
#55
If you buy the metal, I bet I could make a set for your truck and mine in a Saturday..

Unless its under $500 im going to have to stick to the stock dodge 60 from a pick and pull...

thinking maybe a 2x4 or 2x6 tube, tuck it up close as possible for ground clearance, then tie it into the frame. Should be a piece of cake.

If you need/want help with any of this, let me know. Bring it over and put it in the shop with the A/C on and we can go at it.
