LOL not having to push a clutch to the floor made a HUGE difference. Now my knees don't touch the dash. :)

Lol that's good!

Front cage between the A and B pillars is complete along with seat mounts tied into the frame, etc... roof still needs to be skinned as well as the doors, but the A/B section is done! Great work by Matt. I love the spiderweb. Strong. Safe. Sexy.

The back half will get wrapped up once the coilovers are complete and we see how the shocks need to mount with the stretch going on and then work the spare tire into it.

The rear axle has been pulled. Evidently, it's aluminum EVERYTHING (almost). I'll let Andrew tell you more if he wants to... LOL

Important take away is that everything has been gone through, checked, tightened, double checked, adjusted, and she's ready to roll. Great job, guys.

Here is the beginning of the mount for the rear four link uppers and a shot of "my axle just hanging out in the wind".

Next up is the stretch, coilovers, and new 4 link and 3 link. After that, wrap up the fuel cell and on to electrical with the HigherGround PitCrew!

Did you seriously have the driver seat mounted higher than the pass? Comprimizing for something? LOL.

Yes and Yes. LOL

They are calling it the "phone book mod". Matt is the same size as you and with this seat config, our heads are at the same height (plus there is the 3" of mandatory space between the helmet and the cage). I can see over the dash and have good control of the vehicle with the seat raised. If your seat was as high as mine, your head would hit the roll cage and we would have to cut part of your torso off to make you fit. The mounting the passenger seat rails mounts on the bottom of the tube and the driver seat rails mounts on the top of the tube. Seat belt mounts are configured the same way, so we're safe, but it's a custom seat set up for driver and co-driver to go win races. :)

On a related note: I have more details about the Dirt Riot Race in Tucson on Junuary 13th and 14th that we'll be racing as a warm up event. Good stuff. Our class will be a 2 hour race over the 9 mile course that's laid out "KOH style" with desert, washes, and crawling. I'll start a seperate thread on that race.

Even though I went by today, I didn't get any updated pictures.

I do have a few from tail end of last week, plus a couple cell phone pics from Andrew.

The stretch has gained another 6 inches, so the total WB will be 105". The rear link system is complete and the front arms are almost done. I don't have super pictures, but here is a general idea (the axle is in full up travel position)

Big, beefy arms with big heims... compared to the alumi-flex stuff it makes me wonder how that even held up. These are nice, thick aluminum arms.

Matt part-way through the rear shock mounts with some initial mock up and tacked work on one side working on shock angle.

Here are a couple of cell phone pis from Andrew. As he put it, "you now have up travel". LOL They flipped my steering box, protected it, and created some clearance for my trac bar.

When I was by today, Matt has the transmission in, clocked the transfer case to line up, and was doing a great job tucking it all up nice and tight. I'm really pleased with the belly clearance. The front arms, mounts, and joints are being wrapped up along with the rest of the front suspension. There is a good chance she will move out of Andrew's and into Phase 3 of the build (electrical, safety, and branding).

There is also the aluminum roof and door skinning, fuel cell/system, removable steering wheel, and other odds and ends that need to be wrapped up this week. I don't know how they get so much done, but Andrew seems to think I can pick it up Friday.

Also, Andrew scored me a great set of Walker Evans 17" beadlocks. I'm still going through therapy over the fact that I have to downgrade my weekend wheeler to be competition ready, but items like this make it better. My 20" rims are still available if you are interested...

On the tire front, I'm still in the market for some used 37's, so after the sticky/non-sticky cluster, I still don't have a tire solution (Man I wish I could have ran those Maxxis Treps! LOL)

I hope to have updated pics and a vehicle on the trailer come Friday, so stay tuned!

Great work LetzRoll Offroad!

No story today, just sneak peek cell phone pics from Andrew on spare tire placement. The rear of the tub will also be trimmed to accomodate the tires after the stretch, but we have a spare tire solution that allows for tool store AND visibility via the rear view mirror. GREAT WORK LetzRoll!

Wow that this is looking amazing, I cannot wait to see it on the trailer coming home! Question is, is this a trailer queen now or can you still drive it to the trail and wheel it. Dont get me wrong trailer queens are cool and all but I give alot more cudo's to the guy that drives his rig to the trail!

On a side note Alan, I love the way your rig is turning out! Wanna trade for an XJwouldnt have to buy beadlocks, tires or much else for that matter lol

Can I? Yes. Should I or will I? Not anymore. :)

Got any pics of that XJ? I might be interested... LOL

Speaking of beadlocks, I just picked up a set of Walker Evans and I also scored a brand new set of PitBull Rockers in Vegas. Both the rims and new wheels I was able to get for the same price I sold my tires and what I have my current rims listed at. I'm very happy with this development.

Really good possibility it's coming home today. I know they are working on buttoning up everything so I can pick her up, anyway. If there is a delay, it'll be first part of next week, but so far we're looking good for this afternoon.

Do I even need to tell anyone how happy it makes me she's coming home?

When I was emailing with Andrew last night, they were having trouble with the front shocks: "We have had to notch into the frame to get you up travel. Re-make the track bar mounts and new bar. Now were working on how to place the shocks off the old towers so we can still use them. "

Of course, now I will have uptravel! LOL
