Javalina Hunt 2012 — Higher Ground 4x4

Hey guys,

I got my tag for the 2012 Javelina hunt. I will be doing hunt # 5004 near Prescott .
The hunt is from Feb 24th till March 1st.
Avis and I will be up there for opening day and come home on Sunday the 26th. We will be part of the Javelina Hunt and Outdoor Fair. Its a free event and a great way to learn a few things and just have a good time.
The info is listed below and is open to all.

Feb. 24-26, 2012: Javelina Hunt and Outdoor Fair*
• Location: Prescott area
• Hunt Unit: 17A/ B, 19B and 20A
• Hosted by: Arizona Bowhunters Association and Outdoor Experience for All
• Website: www.huntingfair.com
• Learn to hunt javelina; other outdoor skills activities; food provided. A javelina tag for hunt number 5004, or 5007 or 5008 in these regulations is required for the hunting portion of this camp.

Very cool. Unfortunately, I will also be Javalina hunting that same weekend in 36B.

I'm a NOOB when it comes to this, so I'll ask here.... I bought my tag and license at the same time, I received my tag last Thursday and have yet to receive my license in the mail. Is that normal or should I be calling Game and Fish?

If you did it online you needed to print it off.

You general season people doing any scouting trips up there before the hunt? Coordinate with Paul and I as we plan to go find a herd or two before Feb. 10.

Javelina Scouting Trip
January 2, 2012
6:30am - Depart Carefree Hwy gas station.
I think Paul was going to ride shotgun with me in the JK. Back seat is open.
The plan is to go up off Tonto and Fair Oaks road and scout or hike in hopefully locating javelina.
Bring your binoculars, spotting, scope, and lunch.
