Love the boat picture, looks peaceful

Found some more abandoned areas. Saw no one except for an old man on a quad collecting brass. Fast flat desert out SW.
Working on what I'll call desolation feel processing for scenes like these.

That's awesome, Daniel! Looks like a ton of fun...

I went to the Kill Switch Workshop hosted by katvans and hung with a bunch of good folks. Many HCR guys were there that I hadn't seen since we ran Smasher and Brutal.

Here's a panoramic of the event (if you have flash, you can click the picture and go 360 degrees):

and yes, I was topless in a smart car. Is anyone really surprised at all?

That photo needs more HDR.
Alan the size proportions on your nipples to bellybutton are astounding.

Desperately needed to escape reality for a little while.... this will hold me over for a bit. I hope heaven has a creek with a sunny rock near by as comfortable as that one.

Cool Daniel. Thanks for posting your adventures.
I always appreciate your comments too.

The wife wanted to go fishing so I took her to one of my spots.
We made it an over-nighter and camped on the water under the trees next to some rapids.
We got 5 good catfish, all great fighters. Plenty for a fish fry.
I had packed a cheap float tube and played in some rapids. It got a small hole in it so when it was time to leave, I cut it open, tied an end off, filled it with water, placed the fish inside and slung it over my shoulder so they would survive the hike out.

Water sling... I like it. Did the fish make it?

Yep. Put a trout on a stringer - dies.
Put catfish on a stringer overnight, carry them out of water, take them on an hour an half drive, hit them with a hammer, skin them with vice grips, and they stay lively for the all of it.

Last night with Steve.
We drove around to do some recon on a few places. We had the flashlights packed in case we couldn't find POE's and just went into the drains.
Times are hard and scrappers are everywhere so so is barbed wire. We figured out our approach on Loc1 but were in need of a ladder. We spent a while driving around to find a pallet to use instead. Once secured, we went back and made it over and in. This site was large and contained over 4 huge buildings, mostly empty but very old. Broken windows checkered the few remaining still solid panes towering above. Because of our scouting, we made it in after sun down so shooting was tough; swinging lights can be seen far away to many eyes. We kept our movements quick and intentional hitting each structure sequentially. We didn't know the yard connected by gate to an active complex and a last man out's headlights nearly poked holes through Steve as he ducked corner. Nesting birds made the huge metal buildings come to life unexpectedly here and there. Given the plan was pretty impromptu, my unfresh camera battery died at the end which can be a good thing sometimes to ensure an end to what could be an overexplore. We hoisted ourselves up the sharp fence, straddled the floor mat we had thought to bring from Steve's truck, and disappeared again into the thick brush.

Thanks Alan.

The 1920's church had gone through a few different hands becoming official abandoned, so the original still standing building had been renovated inside and neither floor warranted many photos.

This guy was pretty organized but not home at the time:

The exterior (that wasn't boarded up) still looked cool.
