Memorial Day Weekend
#1
Anybody got plans or wanna make some plans? Maybe an offroading/camping trip??? along with some caving???? Who's in? It's May 28th (Monday obviously). We could do a Sun/Mon or sumfin.
#2
I am up for that as long as we can make it a Sunday Monday trip. Jen has a wedding that Saturday and would not be able to go.
#3
I cant make it we have a BBQ at our house but everyone is more than welcome to come over for it and swim.
#4
Toni is talking about cnxling the BBQ and going camping with everyone. Its not for sure but let me know when and where. Hope fully all of us can make it.
#5
That would be great if you all could make it. Mike and I are discussing a couple of different locations. When we get it narrowed down we will put it to a vote.
#6
Let us know Nathan! It'd be great to have all four of ya with us. I'm gonna get Jonathan to find out if his roommate can go with us, too.
#7
I just need to know when and where. Sun-Mon works better for us.
#8
It would be a Sun-Mon
#9
When we decide where we are going if a couple people want to go up on Saturday and reserve the spot that would work out great. Jen and I cant make it till Sunday because she has a wedding to go to on Saturday.

I'll be that guy.
It's looking more and more like Bear Canyon is the destination. The con that's on you hiking-challenged mind spawns off more pro's than anything else. You "know" there won't be any group nearby blaring music or anything like that.

Just pack light, and all the muscle men will help out.
I usually make my stuff down in one load, and then I'm free to come back up and assist someone else. Just don't expect a lot of multiple trips or we'll be burning your extra weight to save us from the trips back up on the way out.

How long of a hike is it? If we come I will have the boys with me.
#12
Its not long just steep, going down is easy :D
#13
can I toss them down to some one? Just kidding. or am I
#14
It's really not that long. What like 10 minutes top? The boys will be fine. Like I said, the biggers will have to carry the littlers' stuff. After the first trip down the women folk and kiddimers can stay behind and set stuff up while the guys finish with a couple more trips. It's not a crazy fun thing to do with a few trips, but I guarantee that once you see the view you'll forget about the hillike.

whats the drive in like? Can a stock X make it in my sister in-law may come too.
#16
yep, shouldnt be a problem. Ive seen lots of passenger cars out there

Mike are you gonna bring your crawfish traps?
#17
ok now I'm getting excited....... :P
#18
And rightly so:

#19
WOW that is Awesome. Now I'm really really excited.........

THAT PICTURE DOES NOT DO IT JUSTICE.

Like Mike said, you forget about the hike once you get down there. It really is not that bad except when you have to make a couple trips to get your stuff. We should have plenty of guys to help out the bigger families just make sure not to over pack like I did last time. It took 3 of us 3 trips and that is why I was hesitant on going here again.

It will be a great trip and there really is not a beter place in Arizona to camp in the trees by the water with nobody around.

If someone is going up Sunday morning and has room for one more person I just might go up on Saturday and save the spot if anyone else is interested.
