Lol if the winch was all I needed to worry about messing up on that trail, I'd be all over it.

Seriously though, what would be a good test? I'm new to the whole winching thing

Okay, so I hooked the winch up to my sisters tahoe white she stood on the brakes and I pulled it a few feet no problem. However, the mount does allow the winch to flex about 1/4 inch... I've got a video of it, what is ya'lls opinion on it? Is it okay? do I need to figure out how to make it stiffer?

Very cool. Have fun and take pictures. I'll be diagnosing an electrical issue all weekend. LOL
#33
Yeah it need to be solid if you plan on moving that truck or someone else up a hill or over a rock.
#34
I think this should fix the play issue.. Will test it later today or tomorrow. If it doesn't then I don't know what else to do.

#35
Tested the winch the same way, forgot to grab a video but there was no play in it at all this time. Geoff said to add a couple more supports, so If I have time I'll do that tomorrow. But, I think it'll work!
#36
I would also suggest more cowbell. Just sayin'.
#37
Needs more triangulation
#38
And... Done. Added a couple more gussets on the underside, as well as put two gussets on the fairlead plate. It's rock solid now with no play at all. And, it looks good I think.

Next thing to do is add another battery, and a couple D-rings up front. Then I"m going to save some pennies and buy some DOM tubing and build my own rock rails, then she will be Rubicon ready.

Looks great!

Yep. That should do it.
