Strongman
#1
So my gym has been doing more and more strongman workouts.
Last night was a tire flip and yoke walk.

Worked as a two man team to flip a 1100 lb tire.

For the yoke walk we had to go 25ft set it down and then turn around and walk it back. I walked a 575lb yoke and I almost passed out about 10 feet into the walk.

Pic of a yoke walk. Not my yoke walk. Guy in the pic is doing 665lbs.

This weekend I will be doing my first StrongMan comp in Tucson.

Events:
Last Man Standing Log Press
Yoke and Farmer’s Walk Medley
Car Deadlift for Reps
Crucifix Hold for Time
Dumbbell Clean and Press for Reps

This next one is going to to hurt. I have done this a few times and the tire is going to be where I win or lose.

Suicide Medley 2-item 50 feet carry and load, a 50 feet Husafell carry, and a 50 feet tire flip (all tire weights approximate),
with a 50 feet run back between implements- 180# Keg, Boat Anchor, 200# Husafell, 500# Tire

What a day!
The event was not run well and after 4 hours we had done 2 events.
After the first event I was in 2nd place. It was Log Press. 250lbs is a new PR for me.

The next event was a Yoke and Farmer’s Walk Medley. The weight was 100-150# less than what I train with so this was easy and I was able to run with the 360# yoke.

We then did the Crucifix Hold for Time. 30# in each hand.
I loaded up closed my eyes and lifted for everything I had. About 50 seconds in I yelled out "Kristi what do we do?!?!?"
Kristi-"We pull the string out!!!"
Ended up with 1:12 3rd place

Next up was the tire deadlift.
This killed me! I had 1 min to do as many reps as I could. I was thinking this was going to be an easy. Man was I wrong. About 15 in I was ready to die. Ended up with 21.

I was in 3rd place over all at this point.

Last was Dumbbell Clean and Press for Reps.
1 min to do as many as I could. The goal was 18. I got 12... Still a little mad about it. It took me from 3rd to 5th. Meh...
