Lightning and Storm pics
#61
Apache Lake 7/27/13 after some Thurs, Fri afternoon storms (lots of thunder but only a few visible day time lightning strikes) Saturday night, sitting at a camp fire enjoying a cigar & beers then this rolled over the mountains, only got a few good ones before it stopped producing.

Thanks guys! I think the monsoon this year is just blah! not much action :(
I was lucky to be up late enough to get these (and surprised they weren't that bad considering the amounts of beer I had that night)
Alan hooked me up with some kick ass water marks, (Thanks again man! I owe ya) I'm hoping to re-edit these with in the next few days.

Wow. Unbelievable shots, Mike. The sky was really showing out for you last night, huh.

I got west by 12am. Ton of lightning over home but no good views. I called Spshl J on the way out the door to make Noel feel better about me going out alone. He was actually able to meet me and we continued on together. It all went too fast NW but then came back. Almost headed S for part 2 that the radar showed a couple hours behind but we decided against the 6:30am getting home. Home at 3am.

We saw it hit between us and the mountain. It left a glowing spot for almost 30 seconds.

Thanks. At this point I feel like the last photo is just cheating. Almost didn't post it. There's nothing for scale or background.
#73
hah yah but I like the colors in it

Those are incredible.

I was driving home from Scottsdale around 10 and even then I could see the sky light up in the distance.

It was like shooting fish in a shallow barrel last night. Glad to have Offroadaz and Spshl J rubbing their lenses together out there with me.

The first one blows my mind with how many times it trails off... incredible.

The last one is my favorite because it looks like it's striking another cloud, and coming out bigger and stronger.

Taken on my roof tonight. Some of those bolts shoot in between the towers.

See bolt wrapping around 3rd tower
