Shoulda gone out sooner somewhere if I was serious about it but just wasn't feeling like it. Eventually I moseyed just past the neighborhood to at least watch the show. Snapped a couple stock shots.

It was in a waterproof/dustproof case... you just couldn't hear me... only the handling of the case. :)

Without this video I would have forgotten to take out my recycle. Props to Alan.

Last night's sunset storm was pretty good. Watched it come in over the White Tanks. I stayed for the duration of it. The lightning was impressive from the roof.
Saw some weird clouds form from the ground.

Got these back when I was like 17. I was using old film so the quality isnt quite there, but they are pretty cool:

Still haven't really sat down with yesterday's shots cuz somebody just had to go out again tonight ;) Thanks Paul. We'll get some for you. Tonight I grabbed two decent ones before they got too far away and the wind rocked us up there.

I made it out to a spot I had on my lightning list last night. First I drove out towards Lake Pleasant but the storm was too big with too much rain so I turned around and drove back far south. I knew I should just give up since there were no strikes even showing that direction during the drive, but with tunnel vision I kept driving anyway out to a spot I wanted the lightning to be. There was no sign of it anywhere near and then just as I arrived, a small cloud appeared and did some inside light dancing. It was windy and diagonal raining at this point so I drove out into the field closer and positioned the Xterra as a rain shield lined up with the cloud and the old abandoned stone home also ensuring a slight line through the aligned house windows just in case what I was hoping for happened.
The lightning struck cloud to ground just after I set up and I got the shot I wanted with the bolt showing through the house. It only struck twice more before that cell disappeared.

This is a structure I've been out to before.

What do you do in between storms? Run around with a headlamp while your friend taps the brake lights of course. City lights providing yellow glow.

Grabbed another on the way out

I been almost bored with standard lightning in the dark shots. The chase is still thrilling, but after catching that shot with the abandoned home, I'm wanting more backgrounds in shots.
Friday was an amazing storm but instead of going to my old spots, I went with Steve on the roof of Camelback HS. The wind was pretty strong so we were only able to shoot a few strikes clearly.
