So as some of you know my 'ol Dodge Ram finally tuckered out last December. With a misleading 200,000ish miles on the odometer, most of which were put on towing a 5th wheel, lugging 35's down the highway, or with a horsepower hungry teenager behind the wheel, it's no wonder the block finally gave out. If I remember correctly our very own Mr. Avis stated "It's gushing out like the Colorado River", referring to the monstrous crack just behind the water pump. With no money to fix it, a theft attempt, and too much pride to sell her I was forced to place her in secure storage. Well 9 months later my circumstances have changed and I am finally able to bring her back to life. The process began by searching for a replacement motor. With some crate motors lingering close to 4K dollars the project seemed too daunting. With the help of a good friend of ours (Avis, you'll hear that name a lot in the thread) I was able to swipe a re-manufactured 5.9 gasser at a rock bottom price and had it shipped to Daniel's work, which arrived last Tuesday. Today we were able to orchestrate getting the truck over there and moving her into a bay of her own. After dropping her off the tear-down process began, which apparently has 2 settings: No speed ahead and full speed ahead. Stay tuned as this project plays out, Daniel and I will both be posting updated pictures!
Loading up the tow truck!
MMmmm delicious. I need suggestion for what color to paint the block, otherwise it has been decided that Barbie Pink will be the default color. While some...most of you would like that I would not!
