CDC worst case scenario speculates around 2 million deaths in America from the flu with a huge financial hit to the country

If it gets bad they are going to suspend travel to other countries, people will stay home from school, work, eating out and going to shows. If that happens it will kill our economy because no one will spend money and our exports/imports will be suspended.

Ok, so it's a strain of the flu. They don't have a vaccine for it.

It seems like the symptoms are pretty bad, but what I don't understand is what is causing death from it? I was reading the article from the 5 year old they found and believe is Patient Zero. He was sick for a few days and got over it. Why are people dying from the flu?

Just to let you know, the #1 way to protect yourselves is to wash your hands!!! So next time you go to a public restroom and consider passing up the sinks, think twice :P

The landlords of the complex two doors down at work have a sign up on their door that people upon entering must wash their hands before anyone will speak with them. They have that Purell Antibacterial soap on a stand when you enter.

They are sending people home for a minimum of 5 days where my wife works if they have recently traveled to Mexico.

I'm going to get a can of Lysol and just start spraying people.

in all honesty thought it might not be a bad idea to stock up on some canned goods and general medicines. If it does get bad things will be in short supply

The only thing out of hand is the news.... Its the flu. people die of the flu all the time. They also die if it get to hot or to cold. This world could use a few less people in it.

yah, 36,000 people die in the US every year from flu related causes

only thing worrying people with this one is that it is a new strain and they dont know how it will mutate

If things get too bad you need to buy ammo not food. I will take food.
