Medial meniscus tear from 15 some odd years ago shows as 1cm on MRI but appears to have healed itself back then because he can see no wear or damage that he should see if a tear had been left unfixed this long. The lock up I get that I have to manually unlock is most likely just extra fatty tissue that gets displaced. So in short, no more damage is being done by leaving it alone and he'd only recommend surgery if if the lock up happens so often that it's annoying and worth the money. So less stress off my money plate since Noel is also about to back-to-school herself a masters degree.
