Attempted Install on Dana's Jeep
And yes, apparently this is not a fluke with them. Getting something that does fit from them would fit more into that category. I was warned of the rumor from Chris. In fact a guy from his work has the bumper and had to have the holes bored out to make it fit. Word on the street was that yes Fabtech had a bad batch, but they had corrected the problem. Whether the problem really is fixed, who can say? But the fact remains that they put out a bad product, didn't recall them back from the shippers, and then again played the what's done is done card once buyers like us ended up with their defective products. A big thanks has to Mike at 4x4Rockshop.com, who we usually buy through, because he was able to get the bumpers shipped back on the suppliers' tab since Fabtech would not handle it. Further evidence: I also have a friend at work who builds low riders (yuck : ) and I just simply asked if he has ever used Fabtech. His first response was, "Why? Did you get something from them and it not fit." He told me he has ordered a few things from them that had to be "re-fitted" to make them work. We had ordered their steering box skid plate as well when we ordered the bumper, but now we will probably end up selling it on Ebay or something. There's no reason to support them or have their name on any of our Jeeps. |
