**Addendum**

A short time later, we did the same install on Jared's 2004 Jeep and there was one new, time consuming step we had to add.

We noticed that under the battery tray, instead of there being the two triangle shaped holes to allow the snorkel hose to through, there was only one.  The inner support had just a thin slit.  Therefore, we had to improvise and make our own hole there.

This turned out to be quite difficult  because of the thickness of the metal and the awkwardness of where the grinder needed to go to get at enlarging the existing slit.  We ended up dropping the grinder blindly between the battery supports to make vertical cuts, and then blindly cut a couple horizontals ones from underneath getting showered with hot metal shavings all the while.  We finally got the better of it and had our second hole, but we were surprised at this change in the years (not listed in the instructions and the extra time it took.

I should also add that Jared manned up and just decided to make the notch on his rocker panel while it was still on the vehicle.  We filled in any extra gap with black caulk but he turned out making a nice cut that didn't make it deep enough to harm the body beneath.
