He broke something in his rear diff. Most likely his spider gears or his sensibility.
But let's talk about the full size tire-on-rim in the middle of the beeline on the way back into town. Who new a Jeep and an Xterra could jump a tire at 60mph.
So theres was just this trie/rim combo sitting in the road while we were in caravan formation. All of a sudden from the rear of the line Randy and I see Bob, the only one who had a chance to see it, swerve crazily then Dana's Jeep swerve a little (as they tried to stradle it) and bounce some and all of a sudden in my view a tire flies out from under the Jeep pops up a little and flies right at us. Luckily we were holding form pretty tight so it didn't have much of a chance to get high enough to say, come through the windshield. We had no time to do anything so we took it how it was served. It all happened so quickly, but I believe it hit the bottom of the bumper, went under, we jumped it too, and then a few fast jarring thumps from the undercarriage and then my side view mirror let me see it shoot out behind, bounce once and shoot up over any cars behind me. It bounced so high I lost it in the mirror until it bounced again on the shoulder and took off up the hilly road side.
I just knew something had to be busted, a wheel an arm, something. Bob knew it could be bad so he pulled right over and we followed. A little shook up we did an inspection for damage on Dana's and mine but could visually see none.
Imagine if it had been a car, or if we had been further staggered. Guess it was actually good that it was us.
