Just another short getaway for me. Left solo with the X and camera Saturday afternoon, ran Sunflower to the mine and camped.
Almost a full moon made it a bright night, but not bright enough to see what went bump in the night around my camp. Expected rain but got none. Spookier going it alone at night- no shots fired though.
Woke up and drove the rest of the creek taking pics of mines.
Turned around and drove up the trail to the Mormon Grove Trailhead.
Hiked a total of 9 miles stopping at the Potato Patch and Story Mine.
PP was an odd meadow in the middle of the desert. After entering through a curtain of trees, you find yourself in a field that overlooks to the South with a view of everything from the Superstitions, Bartlett, and Fountain Hills. It'd be nice to check this place out when more wildflowers were in bloom in the spring.
Had to scold some dirt bikers who had "gotten lost" about driving on non-motorized trails. Luckily no Ierrsay Ubclay members spotted them.
Decent trip. Kinda hot, needed the sleeping bag at night.
Nothing too special on pics. Sometime the sky was overcast too. I took a few more pics for our mine catalog also.
