The X and I went along with Nate and 2 boys in his Unlimited.
Too hot in the sun, not bad in the shade, better than great in the Creek.
It's crazy how much water comes out of the spring. Could easily sweep away a little one. Crystal clear green pools were all along the way. The part at the bridge and some others was deep enough for people to be diving.
Stopped at the verde to check it out. River crossed to check out the way out through Dugas-Orme. That would make a nice 4wd drive way in. I've read it gives great view to the Rocks in Sedona. That last drop in to the river is a good 2000ft climb too. It was the first crossing for the X, but the camera man was the driver so no pics :( Rockers were under though.
We stayed on the downstream end of the Creek, but it would be nice to make the 4 mile hike up to the spring. Steve has done it a while back and is itching to do it again and camp at the Spings on the 28th-29th possibly.
Sterh Lake (pond) was totally dry b/c they disassembled the flumes that provided it with water. Steve told me there would be water in it, even emailed me a pic with him canoeing it:
Of course he also sent this pic along with it. I shoulda guessed by his porn-stache and too tight shorts it was taken a while back:
Anyway. Great place to get in some clear cool water. Had fun
