Chayes Cherokee

Hey guys, quick question and please refrain from laughing hard. I notice vehicles must be 4wheel drive. Well my rig is only 2wd with a lift on it. I am working on getting a locker but that could be down the road. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Be nice

sell yours and by a 4wheel drive :)g)

Honestly I dont know how well a locker would work in a 2wheel drive. Ive actually never heard of anyone doing that. You could look at converting to 4wheel drive but that might be more trouble then its worth

If youre main concern is the rule stuff I just posted above, dont worry. We will just call any run you drive on a recreational event and you are good to go

Perfect. I have taken it on some trips that are rated 2.0-3.0 and seemed fine. Did not tie up people or slow anyone down. I just need to watch the line I pick. I know its not a rock crawler but when it grows up it would like to be. I have thought about selling and going with a 4wheel but my wife loves it. I will make sure to hit only runs that I think I can handle and worst thing if a run comes up I get interested in I will advise everyone before hand to gives a heads up, and you guys can advise if it would be worth the risk for all involved. Thats what we are about right. Having fun and helping out our fellow jeepers.

You've never visited an Xterra forum before

Would one make a difference? I was told by Dave from Desert Fab that it would help some.

Id think that if you did a rear locker and winch up front you should be able to get unstuck and run alot of trails

The winch would make a big difference, especially if you were able to winch off someone in front of you who just ran a hard section

Now we are talking. I think you just hit a home run. Forgot all about a winch. Okay, now I need to look into a nice front bumper and then move on to the winch. Looks like I have some work in front of me. Well at least I can still go to the pool, I just can't go in, unless water level is low and I have on my life perserver. Thank you so much for ringing in on this. Owe you one.

I can sell you some tube bumpers.......
#9
You can? We need to talk about this. Would they work on a Cherokee?
#10
Yeah, you'd be better off building a bumper out of cardboard tubes than with his tinker toy mall rated bumper. You should make him pay you to pawn it off on you. }:) }:)
#11
Michael you need to zip it.......They work for now. Some of us dont like to ask for help. If I can sell these then I can buy new ones. With no help from you talking smack. Dont you have a window to fix at your work? }:(
#12
aw we just ruined this official thread.
It won't fit on a cherokee and you didn't choose your bumpers (or else I'd really be giving you crap). Ask Jared if he had to pay dues with his tubes.

So you're the one who broke my window 8|

The way I was feeling there was no way I could have done it. I'm not as think as you drunk I am.........:)g)

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA cat fight :)=)
#15
So will they work good on a cherokee or half _ _ _? And would they be capable of holding a winch with some KC's?
#16
I dont think they would fit without some modifications

DEZRUNR on here is a welder and made J's front and rear bumpers. He might be able to fab something up for you

Wow talk about some killer work.. I will start saving some money and will post when ready to move forward with the bumper. I thank you again for heading me down the right road.

AZLUGS let me know how he makes it out at Smiley Rock. It gives me some hope knowing he was able to make it to Coke Ovens. I hear that can be a brutal run if not properly set-up. Look forward to hearing about your trip this weekend
