Jeep Wash
#1
K, I think it's about that time to try to set up a Jeep wash. How bout some Saturday in July... there's the 7th, 14th, 21st or 28th. Please let me know which Saturday, if any would work.

I think it would be pretty easy to set up we just need to mark all of our calendars ahead of time.

Supplies I can think of:
People to wash
Hose
Towels
Washcloths
Soap
Window Cleaner
Newspaper for cleaning windows
Posterboard for signs
Buckets

Who's in? or has suggestions?

Free car wash to Jeeps?

what about the place to do it? I have the hose and window cleaner. We can get wash cloths and towels at the $1 store.

In high school we used to have lots of car washes. We'd have them at fastfood places. Most places like that at least are more than willing to have extra customers. Let's pick a date and from there we can research the place. Obviously somewhere we can park all our Jeeps out front to be seen by allllll. =)

So we'd need a good corner that sees lots of Jeep traffic.

It'd be cool to have one of our Jeeps completely covered in mud (not just a little dirty), while the others be clean.

We should be selective of who we service though :)=)

OK, here is the deal. We have been talking about this for a long time and thank you Dana for getting it done. Is it going to be a Jeep or a Wrangler car wash?

First order of business, Mike I need you to find out exactly how much it is going to cost each of us to purchase and have HigherGround shirts made. I believe it will make us look a little more official if we are all wearing shirts and girls in tangtops or bathing suits (except Jen, she might be showing too much by then, but it is up to her.)

Second, Print up some fish stickers, windshield stickers (different colors) and the HG stickers for the rear of vehicles to sell.

Third, Lets start posting on all the boards. I know we dont have street credit yet because we are so new. Lets just set the date and place and tell everyone we would like it if anyone could just stop by to say hi and get a quick free wash. Bob and AZlugs, you know more people than us, would you both be willing to get the word out and help us promote?

Forth, Lets have the date and place set for the picknick, as we are washing vehicles we can pass out flyers and our business cards to let people know when and where to try and get a better turnout.

Last but not least, If the girls are out on the corner holding the signs and all the guys are talking to the Jeepers who is washing? Lets all try and get one or two people to help wash if possible (the K's kids would be great)

I dont want to try and make this more diffucult than it has to be, but if we are going to do it then I want to do it right. give me your feed back and let me know what you think or if you have any ideas.

As for those days I am good and Jen dosent have any weddings. Everybody needs to pick a date so we can get this thing set.

I know that things are constantly changing in peoples lives but we are counting on each one of you to help us with this. Once the date is set please try to make it you number one priority unless something very important comes up. We are trying to plan this so everyone can be involved.:)=)

Ok, so back to the Jeep wash. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to have the wash?... even general areas of town. Bell is always good. Need lots of traffic with the potential of lots of Jeeps around

Anyone have thoughts??

I know its sooner then we wanted, but one of the members on AZVJC just lost a family member to cancer and is having a benefit car wash. Just throwing the idea out but what if we combined with theirs since it is for charity? Here is their post

"Benefit Jeep wash

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As some of you know, my cousin has been battling cancer for about a year. Brain and lung, stage 4. She went into the hospital last Friday for pneumonia. On Tuesday, she opted to go to hospice to spend her final days in comfort with her family able to be with her. My nephews birthday is today, and her goal was to see his 13th, she made it. Early this morning at 1:40 AM, with about 10 of us with her, after a long hard struggle, she passed away in her sleep. I am going to put on a Jeep wash to help with the costs incurred during her treatment and funeral costs. Any help in the wash would be GREATLY appreciated. It is going to be on Sat July 7th, starting at 7AM. The location is still being determined, but will be in a fairly central location. Any suggestions on a location would be helpful, maybe by one of the sponsors or a friend of a member here, where there is room to have it, water available, and are willing to put up with a bunch of Jeeps dripping mud all over the parking lot. I will have more details shortly to follow. Thank you all very much for the prayers and support some of you have shown, and keep the family(her husband/my good friend, my cousins who are more like a niece and nephew to me) in you prayers as well. Just knowing she is in a better place and pain free helps with the loss. Looking forward to seeing her again in the future."

I know how bad we all want this to be our thing but I think I would be a really good idea if we joined the AZVJC Jeep wash on the 7th. We can have our own in the future but this might be the opportunity for Higher Ground to do some charity work as a club.
