I have been having some problems with the Jeep the past couple months. Most of you know I just had my transfercase replaced and my tranny is still slipping. I took the Jeep out to lunch today and the check engine light came back on and is reading out a couple new codes.

I have an appointment to drop it off tomorrow morning to have it looked at. I only have a 1000 miles left on my warranty so lets hope they put a new tranny in.

you might want to consier extening your warranty

Well I just had my transfer case replaced 2 months ago and I just talked to the dealership. They have found the problem and will let me know tomorrow if they are going to put in a new tranny or if they are going to be able to fix it. If they put in a new tranny then I dont have to extend the warranty, they tranny is guaranteed for X amount of miles even if the warranty expires.

Depending on what they do will determin what I will do.

I am still waiting to hear from the dealership. They said they will let me know today if they are going to put a new tranny in. If they do put in a new tranny, they wont be able to start on it till monday. They will not let me get my vehicle for the weekend because I am so close to my warranty expireing.

Anyone have an extra vehicle I can use for a couple days if they have to keep my vehicle for a week?

Just got off the phone with the dealership and they will not do anything to the tranny untill I fix a couple things first.

I need to fix the Throttle positioning sensor and the Oil pressure switch.

So I need to pick up the Jeep, fix this stuff this weekend and then drop it back off on Monday. I can not drive it because my warranty is up in 300 miles.

Anyone that is available please come help me get this stuff taken care of so I can get this tranny problem fixed.

I am getting the Jeep tonight and I had them throw the parts in the back so all I need is some knowledgeable people with some tools.

Any takers???????????????

I can't... sorry.

I'll be in Flagstaff

How much did the dealer want to do it?

With the parts and everything it would be around $300. I bought the parts for $52 plus tax, so there is no way I am letting them rip me off for $75 an hour in labor when it will only take them 20 min.

You get your junk fixed?
#12
Yep, I got everything fixed this weekend. It only took an hour to do it.

I dropped the Jeep back off to the shop this morning. They just called me said they have to do a complete tranny service which costs $130. I just did it 2 months ago. They are also putting some kind of dye in it to find out where the problem is.

They should let me know today if they are going to put in a new Tranny.

Toldja it was like screwing in a lightbulb. Good job getting it done. I hope the dealer thing goes just as smooth!

cool, did you ever pick up those books? I had my phone off this weekend, forgot the charger at home and wanted to keep the battery full in case I needed it on the drive home

So here is the story.

I got a call today for the dealership saying the Jeep is ready and the problem was that it was 1.5 quarts low of tranny fluid. The problem with this is, I picked the Jeep up on friday and parked in my driveway. About an hour later I went outside to move the Jeep and there was a huge puddle of tranny fluid, it was not doing this before I took it into the dealer last week.

I explained to them it lost the fluid over the weekend when they gave it back to me and the tranny has been slipping for over a month. They told me to drive it for a week and bring it back if I continue to have problems. They know I only have 250 mile left on my warranty minus what they put on it while "test driving" it to find the problem.

I know I am going get back in my Jeep and continue to have the same problem and they are going to say SORRY you are no longer under warranty.

Does anybody have any suggustions on what to do other than take it to a new dealer and pay another $100 just to have them look at it?
