just saying hello
#1
So, just checking in to say hello. I spotted the yellow jeep at NPB with the site decal and decide to check you guys out. I don't drive a jeep :| but i'm often the only knuckle head with a full size in a group.
My ram is far from stock but still has a ways to go in order to keep up on some of the tougher trails. I'm really intersted in the caving and mine exploration as well. Some friends and i explored the Octave mine and a few others and we also went a little ways into the cave in Payson that some of you explored. We didn't have the proper gear to go to far.
Anyway, i hope to tag along in the future if you guys will have me and i promise not to tell you any of my jeep towing stories (another duty of the fullsize...trail towtruck)lol.

Welcome to the group. Good looking truck! So what are the specs?

Hey, nice truck. Having a full size can be pretty usefull on some trails, theres not much room to stow stuff in the jeep! We will deffinately need to take you out caving if youre interested.

You just need to pick up a helmet and a headlamp and you will be set  I bought my Black Diamond helmet from REI and we picked up my wifes Petzl helmet from backcountrystore.com Typically backcountrstore has cheaper prices but you have to wait for it to ship

Have you seen any of the reports Mike has written about our caving trips?

Weelcome to the site!!!

Good job on the intro. Told ya they wouldn't bite.

Nothing wrong with not having a Jeep. Right guys? Guys?
They will find a way to force you out of some of the group shots I've found though :)

But either way, the other thing we have in common is more important anyway.

Oh and Chad, here's a link you might appreciate as much as I do: http://higherground4x4.com/X-it.htm

Great link! Maybe once i get my feet wet i can carve out a spot in the profiles section.

Superlift 5.5" F.I.T. lift (no torsion bar adjustment)
Detroit Truetrac in rear 9.25 Chrysler
Skyjacker rear leafs (5" lift)
Rancho RS9000X adjustable shocks
35" BFG Mud terrains on MT classic II's
Custom Front drive shaft
Custom sway bar quick disconnects
Custom rock sliders
Custom multi mount winch set up (9500 lb Warn-marker hybrid)
Magellan platinum GPS

full compliment of recovery gear (highlift, straps and all the tools/supplies that will fit in the truck box)

I recently concinved the wife that i NEED a solid axle swap, so i'm currently planning that and deciding on how to go about getting the fab work done. I no longer use the truck as a daily driver so it's not as big a deal for it to be down for a bit.

No problem on the helmet. I'm pretty good at smacking my head on stuff so i'm gonna want to wear one. I looked at the pics of your trips and it looks like a great time.

Well Helloooooooo Chad, its great to have you on the site. Love the truck, before I got my Jeep I had a little 4x4 extended cab Frountier. So I am not against trucks at all.

Keep your eyes open on the site and we will be posting our up comming trips and you are welcome to tag along.

Cuz a ground scraping frontier is just like a FS Dodge :P

I guess throw me into the truck guy category too I guess. I drove a 1976 GMC for most of my life and up until last year.

Chad, you going to be there Sunday? If we're there we'll try to meet up with you. What time do you get out?
#10
Sorry i didn't reply yesterday, i was out on Martinez cabin, coke ovens, part of box canyon and battle axe. It was a very long day with only minor damage
Ran into AZlugs there as well.

We work with the youth early and attend the regular service so i guess we get out when everyone else does. We will more than likely have to figure something out next week as i doubt you'll get this in time.

That picture looks familiar but the wrog person under it!!! We had a silver FS Dodge similar to that in our group and leaving Ajax heading to Superior be buckled an upper A Arm. His wife picked up a new one and brought it to Florence Junction and the Pete and I took it backe in the Jeep, didn't get out of the trails till after dark!!!

Thought i would share the truck transformation. The rig has been out of action for quite a while. The IFS is gone. I'm still working out the bugs on the new setup. Having a problem with truss strength but other than that she crawls like mad.
#13
SICK!!!!!! SWEET!!!!!! dang near flexes like my xj cant wait to wheel with a rig like that
#14
That's awesome. Never seen a fullsize truck flex like that!!
#15

No worries. I actually used a buddies jeep as a winch anchor on Saturday when i got in a tight spot.
All pride goes out the window when options run out.
