Ok. Never too soon for Hammers prep, right?
Obviously, since I've sold the car I will not be racing KOH this year. That being said, I'll be doing the White Collar Publishing thing for ESAB and a couple of other outlets this year, so I'm going to be there all week. Also, Will Overton and Pier Acerni (the guys who bought my car), may be looking for a bit of help on race day, etc... I'll reach out to folks individually to see if you are interested in either of those things.
Now, on to the important stuffs:
Here is the schedule for 2016
2016 KOH Week Schedule of Events:
Sun 1/31 - King of The Motos
Mon 2/1 - ULTRA4 SRRS East/West Shootout
Tues 2/2 - 4 Wheel Parts Qualifying
Wed 2/3 - KOH UTV Race
Thurs 2/4 - Smittybilt Every Man Challenge Race
Fri 2/5 - Nitto King of The Hammers
Sat 2/6 - KOH The Experience - Trail Rides for Enthusiasts
I will be traveling out on 1/30 (Saturday) with the LROR crew and staying until 2/7 (Sunday) when we all come back. This year is Ivan's senior year and one of my Senior Year Gifts to him is finally getting to go to KOH. He can't miss all week of school, but if someone is coming up Wednesday, I will be asking if you have an open seat. He'll be coming home with me on Sunday.
I did sell the camper as well, so it will be tent camping this year (or vehicle camping, or whatever you want to bring). I plan on having a HG4x4 site outside Hammertown (like in years past), although we'll be spending a lot of time in Hammertown at the LROR main camp. We are all welcome there, but Andrew and I are trying to slim down the circus that is our pits so we can focus on winning KOH this year.
I really want to do one night (at least) of "middle of nowhere" camping, where we head out into the Johnson Valley desert until we can no longer see a single light or hear a single car and just camp in the middle of nowhere. I will have the Fool Size Jeep up and running and that will be my Johnson Valley transportation. I can take a couple folks in there. That's kinda the point. I'll also be "working" when it comes to photography, but there will be plenty of time for fun and screwing around, too.
If you plan on going, feel free to post up here. We can coordinate in this thread. Going to be much less stressful this year for me and I'm looking forward to it. Hope a crew of us can go out again.
