Go up early to go shooting with the guys from my gym. We had the DPS range for the day. Well at 2am it was still raining and the swat guy that set it up called off the range day. I was already up and with the guns in the truck when I got the msg. One of the other guys was in the same boat so we headed out to Rio for some range time.
I had the 10/22 .223 30-30 and 9mm
I hate to say it but I like that 10/22. Dont know if I want to sell it now.
The .223 just works for me. Was hitting steel all day long with open sights.
The 30-30 is just a solid old gun. Was doing a standing shoot, open sites 200 yards and could hit it with no problem.
My hand gun shooting is... well... just bad. I have some nasty habits that is making me pull left and up. I talked to a range officer and he had me set up two new targets. I shot 10 rounds into the one and then he watched as I held the gun. Worked on my hand placement and keeping my finger on the trigger after I pull it.
It tightened up my grouping and got me back on target.
It was a good day at the range.
