Whats the name of that finish that you put on your gun? Robar?
#1
Whats the coat you put on guns to make them almost like teflon? James did you ever get it done? I was thinking Id like to cat the xd subcompact with it and get some new sights while I was at it

The finish is called NP3. Its a hard self lubricating finish. While you investigate this option, also consider cerakote.

As for sights, it will depend on your shooting needs. There are tons of options.

did you put it on yours? I want to build up my ccw gun a bit more, thinking just some trijicon night sights maybe?

There is nothing wrong with your current finish, right? Night sights are useful, but not nearly as useful as trigger time and situational awareness. Get out and shoot. Dry fire it. Get some training. Once you are truly familiar with your limitations with your firearm, then modify it to fit your needs.

Until you know what you need, its just "wants". Or, money wasters.

the existing one is getting pretty worn and if it gets wet, it rust spots come up on it

Ive had that subcompact since they first came out, about 12 years old I think

I would cerakote it. Its just the slide so it doesn't not need self lubrication.

I just met a good guy name Derrek. He's the owner of Izor Armory. www.izorarmory.com 602-463-0795

He can cerakote a slide for $75.00 He also offers duracoat, but he recommends cerakote for durability. As he explains it, Rattle can paint is good. Anodizing is 10x stronger rattle can paint, Duracoat is 10x stronger than anodizing. Cerakote is 10x stronger than Duracoat.

Let me know when you are wanting this done. I may have one of my slides done, too. Maybe we can get a discount on two of them.
