do I re-gear or swap?
#1
So I think I could just re-gear the axle for about $800, maybe less.

I think I can build an 8.8 for about $1300, maybe more.

Then I priced out an axle from east coast gear supply without a locker and it's about $25 more than it would cost me, plus shipping.

I think I would prefer to build it myself to know the axle in and out, plus save the $200 shipping.

Any other ideas?

for reference, this is us at the end of hell's revenge.

This is the aftermath.

So you want 8.8 rear? I payed 350$ 5 years ago for one. It was at LKQ. They pulled it and delivered it to me. I'll call Monday for you and check if you want.

Leaning toward swap. I'll post up when I get an axle and see if anyone wants to come help. Anyone got a welder they can bring over?
