Just an excuse to see trees - Crown King - Feb 10-11
#1
To boldly go where everyone has been before:

Nothing serious, it is just Crown King.
Just need another dose of green before my eyes go desert blind.
Anyone is welcome- there might even be an Xterra out there. Hope my core peeps are good to go.

-Plan on running the trail on Saturday
-Camping near a good fire in the trees
-Maybe trying the Fish at Horsethief Lake
-Returning afternoonishy on Sunday

Tentetive schedule, but I really need to have my back to this town, or as I like to call it, the Devil's Taint.

sounds like fun, what time are you leaving?

Megan and me are going to a marriage conference that friday and saturday and West Valley Bible Church but I think its done around 12, ill have to check

We talked about leaving Saturday morning. You know I like to get to the camping spot early. That way we have the rest of the day to fish and relax.

I am bring my dogs so I hope nobody has a problem with dogs. They are both Golden Retrievers and very well behaved.

I was thinking probably 10:00 or a little later.
No need to get there too fast. Just trying to end up in the trees pre-dark.

its always a fun trip heading up there, doesnt look like rain is in the forecast this time

what part are you thinking of camping at? The first halfway spot that has the creek and trees or just outside of crown king?

horse theif basin does have some good size fish in there when i was there

which was nov. 17

we would go but were going on a trip next week on the 10
#8
Man our trips always conflict.

When you last went up to CK, did you take the Backroad?
Did you guys hit the lake on the way up, or on the way back?
#9
I would love to go. Maybe I'll have to change the day of playing tennis with Ivy  It would be sooo great to get away

when we went we didnt go the back way we went the easy way.

then we stayed at a camp site right by the lake.

but it was cold and it sure will be cold now
#11
Cold is good. It means a warm fire and hot chocolate are required. Cuddling - optional.
#12
I wont have Jen there to cuddle with so are there any takers to help keep me warm? Oh, never mind I am bring my 2 dogs and I am sure they will be sleeping right next to me, sorry Mike.

I cant wait, it is going to be so much fun. I am so excited to see the X get dirty, and I am not talking about that back road Sunflower hogwash. Just kidding Mike, I have to give you crap.
#13
Dang it! You never told me there was going to be dirt there!

No problem, I know I'm the ugly duckling.
#14
Yes we all know you are. Oh, were you talking about your X?
#15
What time should I meet you guys at the turn off?
Time to work on the Jeep...
#16
Hmmm. We should figure that out.
So how's the ratio of people to Jee... I mean vehicles going?
It seems vehicles are winning. How's that gonna work?
#17
I had planned on driving just because I am bringing my dogs. If someone else wants to drive and dosent mind if I put my dogs on the back seat that is fine with me. They are great dogs and very well trained, BUT we all know what happend last time.
#18
Im driving but don't know if I am going camp...

I will pee on some of the trees around the camp... That will do it.
