Moab 2014 - April 26-29th
#1
attachment

April 26, 27, 28, and 29.

We'll work out more details closer to date (and a better understanding of what vehicles are going which will determine where we camp, what we run, etc... blah blah blah details), but put in a request for the time off now!

We'll leave at 4 AM on the 26th, wheel a half day Saturday, full day Sunday, full day Monday, morning of Tuesday, and return home after lunch Tuesday (home by 10 PM).

So far it's Chris, Bob, and myself.

Should be fun. Do you have enough go-pros where we can put one in each vehicle?

Depends on how many vehicles...

I have 3 GoPros and 4 Contour cameras. We can make something work.

I don't think I'll have the Dodge fixed by then, but if a seat is open and I get the days off, I can take pictures.

Just to be clear I am still doing the con. This is just a quick weekend trip for me to have some fun.

I figured :) I'm going to plan on it. But 90% sure I"ll just be along for the ride and company.

With that being said, my truck and trailer will be available if someone wants to trailer there and back.

Tentatively in. Will decide which jeep after I know what We're running.

There is a possibility of a "split up day", too, where some do scenic and some do "hard".

Would like to do Moab Rim and Steel Bender. Wish we had a few more hard core rigs. Would love to spend some time in BFE

Moab Rim will be interesting this time. Personally, it wasn't one of my favorites (although it was the best pic of my rig). It will be totally different now with more experience and a different rig. LOL.

I enjoyed Hells Revenge just for the "Moab-ness" of it... and I think I'm a big enough boy now to do the hot tub and also try the other thing that is a giant bowl type thing that Geoff tried.

Hells Revenge is a must.

Behind the rocks was fun.
Green day at BFE may be doable if I get lockers.

I already have this week scheduled off, but am taking a trip to Iowa to claim my Brownells contest prize from last year. I'm trying to lock down my travel dates. If I can get them to send me there on April 30th, I may make this trip! No guarantees, but I would REALLY like to go!

The MOAB list.
Now that KOH is over and the truck is a little beat up from me driving around thinking it was a race truck (what? It had 35’s and a V8…), its time to get the truck ready for Moab.

Check eng light- evap can
Rear shocks
Front shafts with cad delete
Front locker
Fix trans leak
Trans mount
Eng mounts
Flush rad… again
Brakes… again

Not too bad of a list.

you can have my evap can, it's slightly used... BUT, it has been custom shaved to not hang below your frame anymore :D

My rear right a axle seal is weeping a bit. Also, an inner tranny seal is weeping a bit. Crap. I think my power steering pump is weeping a bit, too. Should I fix these before the trip?

nah

just check fluid levels before you leave

axle and power steering leaks are really common

and from my recent experience... burning oil is OK too as long as you put some in every 30 race miles or so.

2 more things...

TRE's looked at and replaced if needed.
PS pump or box. Not sure where the issue is. I lose my steering sometimes turning into a spot.
