My mom and her .22
#1
First off some background on my Mom. She asked for a gun for her Birthday one year. We spent a day having her try out guns, see what felt good in her hand and then had her shoot the ones she liked. She ended up with a Ruger Mark III .22 The weight of it felt good to my mom and she was able to load it on her own.
My Mom took the CCW class and has been going to the range on some of the ladies nights. She is a dead on shot with this gun.

With my Dad being gone for the elk hunt and them no longer having a dog, my mom slept with the bathroom light and stairs landing light on at night. She had her gun on the nightstand next to her loaded and ready to go.

In the middle of the night the light over the landing turned off.

Per my Mom "I was up and out of the bed with my gun in my hands heading to the bedroom door. I knew what I was going to do and had was ready to shot whoever was on the landing. I looked around the corner then came out of the room with the gun ready."

Turns out the light had burned out.

Im sure there are things she could have done different, but its good to know that she is able to react like that, in that situation. I wouldnt give it a 2nd thought about her shooting someone and making the shot count.

This is what her gun looks like.

That's pretty cool man. She's usually a heavier sleeper.
