Backway to Crown King ~ 16th Annual VJC run with a HG flavor
#1
That was a much needed and long overdue mini-HG outing in the dirt. So much fun on so many different levels.

HigheGround4x4 members who attended the 5 AM VJC group: Matt, Bob, Bob's beard, Avis, Alan, Michael, Chelcee and Katie. GREAT group to be out with for the day. I borrowed Andrew's green TJ since my buggy is under the knife. No pics of that, but it was a TJ on 35's, locked, with upgraded axles. Not a buggy by any means, but an awesome day trip crawler that did great on all surfaces. Tube doors were cool.

Here are the pics that I posted on the VJC. Mostly VJC guys and tells very little of our story, but I wanted to post them here to start the pic thread. I'm culling over 300 pics of just "our guys". LOL. I hope to have them, and the story, up later tonight.

Until then, here is your general picture fix.

Bob, as always, was our group ambassador, sharing goodwill and communicating with the masses...

Daniel and Bob were both excellent trail buddies... banking up good karma for the future by helping people in need.

Although I think it kinda gave Bob a headache... as you can see, the range of vehicles in our group was a varied as the terrain.

Brothers in arms...

When we got to the top, it was all smiles, ice cream, and fudge. Hard to tell we had a good time, huh.

And now for a little "Bob Love" as he had the sexy Dodge beast out and about!

(You don't even want to know...)

Daniel Dodge Lovin' (hard day but a great attitude and ALWAYS a pleasure to be on the trail with... oh, and can you have Chelcee grab some food out of the truck for me, please?)

SOOOO glad that Fez was there to help. Could have been a long day without him...

Dude. Daniel is stuck. Drive shaft is busted. What do you think we should do about this?

"Screw it. I'll pull him out." ~ Bob

Another one you just don't want to know about...

Front wheel drove it all the way to the top, ALMOST made it back out to I-17, but the gears gave out up front. Bummer. Good fight, though.

Everyone agreed: Hockey Puck. Zip ties. Duct tape. Rags. Ratchet straps of various sizes. Hi-lift isolator. Rolled up tow strap. Carabiner. Yep... Geoff Larson worthy HigherGround4x4 trail repair for the WIN!

Matt on his way to Whole Foods.

Seriously... where is that Whole Foods dang it.

It's not a party until the TP bag comes out...

The Avis' out for a lovely Saturday drive.

"Who farted?" was the subject of much debate all day. You decide.

Chelcee and Katie were awesome. All day. Just awesome.

"Nah... I didn't bring a camera today. Oh, well, I do have your little GoPro. Guess I might use that. A little. Maybe..."

Um... because he CAN.

and this one needs a caption contest...

"Hey Daniel... come here. I think I just saw something."

"Where?"

"You see this part right here. Inside it, they have peanut butter Oreos. For reals."

"No WAY!"

"Where are they Mike?"

"hehehe... I told Daniel there were peanut butter Oreos under his truck... hehe"

"THERE ARE PEANUT BUTTER OREOS UNDER AVIS' TRUCKS!!!!"

"Um, yeah... they are right over here-ish.. uh..."

"That wasn't cool, Mike. You know that wasn't cool. Karma can be a bitch..."

"...bitch."

#16
All good... rough hour, no peanut butter Oreos, but good company and a great attitude make it alright.

Actually, the Oreos are this way...

...I AM OUTTA HERE!

Bob in training for a Sedona hippy run.

I don't even know what to say here... "I'm sorry" seem so inadequate.

Daniel enjoyed the show, however...

and Bob finally fessed up to farting.

Here are a few random cell phone pics...

My ride was the green TJ from LetzRoll Offroad, courtesy of Andrew for the weekend.

and when the ice cream came out, that's when things got a little weird.

Thought this was a good pic of Daniel:

and as Bob would say... "TOW TRUCK!!!"
