New (to me) Tow Rig
#1
My towing needs are changing (we're getting a 2nd trailer for the race team that's a gooseneck like Andrew's and too big for my Suburban to tow... plus I'm entering puberty and need a truck to complete my evolution towards manhood.)

2001 Chevy 2500 HD Diesel

4 door long bed Quad Cab.
208K miles
New injectors, fuel filter, and fuel filter housing.
New water pump and rear trans plate.
Bed liner, receiver hitch, brake controller, Rancho shocks, tinted windows, etc...
Super clean.

It is 2WD and stock exhaust with no tuner so there is some opportunity there.

So... funds are transferring tonight and I'll pick it up tomorrow. It's a long sucker but perfect for my towing needs. Daniel already wants to make it a chase truck. One step at a time, young grasshopper. One step at a time.

(I think I just grew a chest hair...)

So awesome! Cant wait to have you tow me around.

Looks clean! I love it. If your jeep isn't done for Rubicon, you can tow Bobs truck :)

very cool Alan! It looks like it's in great shape.

Well, it's now official. The tow rig has been upgraded. Please tell me why I never had a diesel before? I love this thing! Special thanks to Mike for the taxi service and good company.

On a related note, I think I need a new parking space at work... I think I've out grown this one.

Awesome my friend.

So, a few updates.

Here is a shot of the truck relative to the Suburban.

Mike wanted some scale, so we decided to see how many Alans each vehicle was.

The Suburban is almost exactly 3 Alans.

The Silverado is 3.25 Alans.

Also, seeing as how my ALNZONA license plate is never on my Jeep, I transferred it to the truck, so know you know who is dusting you towing up the mountain...

and, of course, it didn't take long at all for the toolbox to get moved of my trailer and into the truck bed along with the addition of my car number. I still have to add the obligatory CCV sticker so I can go to heaven, as well as find the *perfect* place for my Lifted Icthus. Once we see what survived, we'll continue with the HG stickerage... but for now, toolbox and race numbers are a go.

Lookin good Alan.

With the toolbox back there, how are you going to fit the 6" stacks in the bed so people know you have a diesel?
#11
Well, Jen wanted "steps" so she could get into the truck, so now we have "steps".

Also, CCV sticker in place so I can officially enter.
