Long story short, my jeep started running like crap the other day and left me stranded.. Was a little frustrated, as there isn't much to these old jeeps. Was acting like it wasn't getting enough fuel, it'd run fine in first gear and would cut out/die in 2nd/3rd. So I pulled the filter out of the fuel pump and found little chunks of metal in the screen. So yesterday I pulled the pump off and took it apart, and found this....
Obviously I'm buying a new pump, but I don't really want this happening again... Should I only run premium? should be using a lead additive?

That seems like a lot of corrosion. Hows the tank? Theres not any gunk floating around the bottom of it that is getting mixed in there right?

Tank is brand new, perfectly clean.

seems like poor manufacturing. Is there another place to get it from?
