What a blast! The event was well run and the people were great. I cut from 290 to 264 in 3 weeks. On the day of the weigh in I was still 10lbs over. I put on a trash bag and went for a run, row and sit up workout. Mowed a few yards and then went in for official weigh in. 7lbs over!
I spent the next 2.5 hours in a 180 degree sauna sweating out every bit of water I had left in me. At one point it felt like I had to pee but nothing much came out. What came out was a red brown color. I called it quits after that.
I headed back and was .5 lbs over... I put the trash bag back on and headed out for a run (power walk) and then sat in my truck for 20 min sweating it out.

weight was 264.2

I felt like I had been hit by a bus. I started drinking and eating trying to get ready to beat the crap out of me that next day.

First event was Log. Starting weight is 235lbs. Next lift would be a 30lb jump to 265lbs.
I was able to hit the first lift but just couldnt get the 265 locked out.

Next was the Yoke
We started off at 600lbs and had 45 sec to walk it 50 feet. At the end of the 50 feet we ad to add 50lbs.
I was able to walk 750lbs 50 feet. I was able to get 800lbs 2 feet.

Sorry no pics of that at this time

Next was the farmers
You had as much time as you could hold onto it. You had to walk it 50 feet turn around and walk 50 feet and keep doing this till you set it down. I made it 100 feet with 235lbs in each hand.

More to come.

After a quick break we were back at it with the chain pull and chain drag.
We had a 700lb chain that was attched to a rope. I sat 50 feet away and pulled the thing with every ounch of strength I had. As soon as it was over the 50ft mark I had to jump up and drag it back the 50 feet. I was hell bent on not setting it down and not giving up till it was over the line.
I set it down 2x but was able to cross the line with 5 sec to go.
Yes this is what my poop face looks like.

After the event I had a hard time standing for about 5 min. I took all the drinks out of the cooler and soaked my arms to try and get them to work again.

Last event of the day was the stone load. You had two chances to try a stone. You picked the weight you wanted to open with and then if you were able to load it you could try a bigger stone.
I opened with a 320lb stone and loaded it with ease. I then jumped to a 365 stone and loaded it once. I tried to load it a 2nd time and was just too beat up to get it over the bar.
I will be working to load a 410 for the next comp.

At the end of the day I took 5th out of 6 for heavy weight men. With some more work and some good coaching I will be in the top 3 before long.
