Lucky for you (and him), I don't actually know him. He found us via Google and is looking for info on the 416. He's out of state.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome and many thanks to 2ndchance for the great advice! Here are some photos (sorry it took so long). My trailer is not very pretty but I like it and have big plans later for restoration in the summer. I can't take it apart yet because I need it for some camping trips this spring. The first time I tried to post photos they appeared to be upside down. Not sure why so here goes again.

From your PMs, I thought it would be worse off. That's actually not too bad. I can't see the severity of the rust, but I'm sure that once you sand blast it, coat it with POR-15, and repaint, it will be fine. How's the inner tub?
The ball hitch can be removed. Cut it off at the face of the lunette mount. The support they welded on the side, don't worry about it. Just cut it to match the support, and drill holes for the chains. The tailgate doesn't look to bad either. At least they reinforced it on the inside. Once it gets a new coat of paint, it'll look awesome.

The tub is rusty but solid and has a couple of dents. The floor was replaced with a 1/8" thick piece of sheet metal.

Brief update on my m416 project.
1. Replaced passenger side wheel bearings and grease seal.
2. Removed, cleaned and greased spring eye bushings. (Rubber bushings need to be replaced. If anyone has a source please share.)
3. Purchased a spare wheel.
4 Went shopping for 3 used tires. No luck. I'm thinking I'll install 225/75R16 tires. By my calculations that size is about the tallest tire I can install without the possibility of a tire rub.
5. Removed driver side wheel hub. For some reason there were two wheel seals. Apparently one had been left on the axle and the hub had been reinstalled. The two had been rubbing for years. Strange.
That's about all I've got done since my last post. Thanks for reading and sending the good advice!
