Tonto National Forest Input Needed ASAP - Deadline is Mid March
#1
Please keep in mind, the deadline to turn into the Forest Service is Mid March, so we need the comments earlier.

For details please go to http://www.azohvc.com/
Then go to the Urgent Issues Page...

Please send all comments to Jeff Gursh at Gursh1spud@aol.com

This will have a major impact on the TNF, if we don't comment we don't know what to save. I know, save everything, right? Well the problem is those who oppose OHV are going to come after shutting down most if not all of it. They have already stated the Forest Service did not adequately assess OHV use, so they are coming after us. We will not be able to save all the trails or roads, we don't have the monetary support in order to legally stop them, so we must do our part by detailing the trails and roads we use and must have. Hey if you can detail every trail with reasons to keep that would be awesome, but we need the support letters and details!!!!

In some cases there are two paths leading to the same location, they run parrallel with some distance apart, one is a more technical trail and the other much easier for any vehicle to gain access. In those cases we need to detail how they are both needed, giving different users of the public land the experience they desire. Giving users the experience they desire meets the needs of the public, and is recognized by the land managers, but in order to show this is the public desire we need to show the public support. Please don't believe anyone else is going to do it, make it happen.

There are details of things to include on the Urgent Issues Page, the most important however is your personal use and desire and reasons to keep the trails you give details on. Be specific, if it is important for you and your family as it is where you spend time together and picnic and bond, then make sure you include that. Make the letter personal and include details, trail numbers, how long you have been running them, how often, your future desires to continue, etc...

Thanks
