Geoff,
assuming you still have the PDC somewhere under the hood,
pull the starter relay and jumper the relay socket from the two outer (pass side and driver side) terminals. You have to have the key in the run position for this to work. If it does work, you can either take apart the NSS and clean it, or if the NSS is bad just run a momentary switch in place of the jumper wire. It's like having push button start. :))
The switch is on the pass side of the tranny, but not too hard to remove and take apart. It is usually packed with dirt, or corroded. after you clean it it should work good as new.
