You got 2 minutes to grab your stuff and get the hell out. You are not pre packed.

List what you would grab.

I thought this might be a fun exercise as we all think in abundance when we think of survival preparation. It doesn't matter if you drive or walk but you have no idea if or when you would return. . You are on your honor as far as how organized you are.

2 min...

Boots, jacket, socks lots of socks... all into my hike pack

my meds with the ice packs

Most my guns are in one area so that should be an easy grab. (Im thinking this would be about 2 min for me)

As I am running to the truck I grab the camping gear in my garage Toss what I can in the back of the truck

I would grab the ax and call it good.

I keep a tool bag with everything I need for basic truck repair, in the truck as well as extra ammo for the 223 and 30-06

Do I have to own the things I grab? can I take from my neighbor or list things I wish I had?

Can we already assume I'm fully dressed?

Stuff that you own. You can be dressed if you want.

I've always wondered what the societal rules were for having to bail out of your place in the middle of the night when you sleep naked.

Question. There are two minutes. Does that mean you can run out and back in as if it were a fire or is it like a worldwide catastrophe where just moving stuff outside wouldn't benefit?

I'll go with the conclusion that it is just what you could carry.

I would stay naked but grab handgun, camera, and water purifier. I could surely grab the computer (for pictures), I just don't know how far I'd have to carry it or if say the powergrid is destroyed and it is forever useless. My shotgun is an easy grab too but the .22 would be great lighter ammo if hunting became an issue again depending upon scenario.

Did anyone else have firedrills at home as a kid? I remember us doing that at random, getting to the street as quick as possible. Of course we also had tornado drills.

Good questions:
I was thinking more you must be on the road at the end of the two min and the chance that you will come back soon, if at all, are small.
It could be an invasion or natural disaster.

I have been much more aware of what I need to take and what I want to take If I woke up and it was a pork chop sandwich situation.

Give me 5 min and I could have everything I need (documents, guns, food, gear, clothing...) tossed in the back of the truck.

Its a lot harder to do than you first think.

Copy that.

I will give it more thought.

rifle, shotgun, and the pistols along with ammo

my 2 ark buckets with 60 days of food

emmas clothes and diapers

birth certificates and important papers (stored in safe along with guns)

medicine and vitamins

if I had time Id run to the garage and get my sleeping bags and tools

my guns, papers and food storage are all stored in the same room so those would be easy to get. I think the medicine and emmas stuff would take the longest

Good question / stuff to think about.
If just I then I could probably be on the road in 5min. But with Jen it would take 5hr :(

Defiantly need to start thinking & planning for the "what if's"

In two min I could grab all my guns and ammo, along with important papers (all stored in same safe)

I have a backpack that is already stocked with emergency supplies, so I"d just fill it with a few clothes, flashlights, and probably throw some dry food in real quick.

By that time, I"m sure my two min would be up, but if I did have a little more time after that I'd grab my tote out of the storage closet with all my camping stuff in it.. First place I'd be going from here would be my parents in any situation, then from there....it just depends on what's happening.

Wow, not prepacked? That's tough one because I have stuff ready to rumble.

1. The wife and kids.
2. 8 loaded ammo cans.
3. 5 rifles w/ cases.
4. Container with all my body armor and "stealth" gear.
5. Small fire safe with all my documents and emergency cash.
6. My hunting bag and camo bag w/ skinning knife.
7. Cellphone & GPS.

Everything goes into my Jeep and away we roll!

The rest I can pickup along the way by ramming through the front door of a Safeway or Circle K.

Well, considering I have never given this a thought, I wouldn't know what to grab. Definitely guns and med but it all depends where in the month it is if I can survive very long. Insulin doesn't like hot weather. So, I will just follow 2ndchance. He has guns and knows how to use them.

You, sir, are wise beyond your years. :)

I also have ammo, about a 1000 rounds for each of my guns.

Part of my bigger plan has always been to help drive all you gun guys to the hills with my buggy. :-)

I reworked my list since things have changed a little. I have more stuff ready to go but I am still over the 2min mark.
