Storage Bins
#1
I have been looking at storage bins for truck camping/hunting/exploration trips. With all the stuff I can, and do take with me, I need to come up with a way to store it all and make quick work of loading and unloading.
I want something that is dust proof and mostly water proof. It needs to be durable as it will be riding around in the bed of my truck.
I have been looking for military surplus crates. They should be able to take a hit. Only problem is that they are not cheap.
What do you guys use?

I use action packers by rubber maid. I used to get them at Walmart but they no longer sell them. However, I did discover them at Sportsman Warehouse.

My customer that let me borrow his Pelican's for Colorado ended up giving them to me.
I love them but they are the big big ones.

That was one of the first things I looked at but I hear mixed reviews on them. The one thing everyone complained about when using them in a truck was the lid blowing off.

I've never used anything but rubbermaid tubs and coolers... I would LOVE to get a big pelican case, but they are way to expensive

You can zip tie the latches closed.

Pelican cases are the way to go, but I've read reviews on another MFG that makes something REAL similar to Pelican cases. Seahorse Cases.

http://www.seahorsecases.com/ <-- They also sell directly from their web site.

I found this site listing a variety of them for a good price. http://www.carrycasesplus.com/seahorse-cases/?gclid=CJuppOnGjrECFQ5ThwodLhn3kQ

As a matter of fact, this retailer sells other cases that are similar to Pelicans. They also offer cases by Storm Case. Another alternative to Pelican at a slightly lower price.

Also, Doskocil has some cases that are similar to Pelicans, too. You can find them on eBay pretty cheap. I saw a used one for $25.00.
