City of Chandler code enforcement was at my door letting me know that the Mustang had to run or it needed to go away.
It has all its body parts still attached to the car and is under a cover parked on a concrete slab. two of the tires are flat but Im working on that.
When asked if it runs I said "Yep." He said "I need you to start it". I politely declined.
I now have a week to figure out what I am doing with it.
Options:
1. build a fence around the car.
2. Get it to run and drive in a week. Anyone have $4K they want to give me?
3. Get a citation and go to court where I will plead my case.
4. Move the car. (I cant put it in the back yard due to the side yard not being wide enough. Truck project is in the garage)
I did read up on all the rules for having a car at the house.
Ongoing restoration project. A project involving a single vehicle or machinery that is kept in a clean and neat condition during the term of active repair and rebuilding.
Must be behind a fence 5' tall.
This is what they are hitting me for.
Any inoperable vehicle, or parts thereof, outside of or under a roof area not enclosed by walls, doors or windows of any building on any lot, except the safe and neat keeping of:
a. Substantially complete inoperable or unregistered vehicles with inflated tires under the roof area of any building as long as the vehicle is kept covered.
Build a roof over the car?
