Arizona Please Help: Police are asking for the public's help to locate a 25-year-old woman who has gone missing and is possibly suicidal.
Phoenix police say Holly Marie Bruce last spoke with her family on Wednesday saying that she was driving out of town. She failed to return home, has not been to work since and is not answering her phone.
Family members told police Bruce has been very depressed lately and they fear she may be a danger to herself. Holly has a troubled past. She’s battled depression since her father drove to a forest in Laramir County, Colorado, and committed suicide by shooting himself 10 years ago.
Police said family members fear Bruce plans to carry out a similar scenario, saying she purchased a handgun the same day she disappeared. During a search of Bruce's home, the family found a receipt for a handgun which was purchased using cash on Jan. 4, the last day anyone heard from her. She reportedly also had financial problems and was facing the end of a long term relationship.
Police say Bruce was recently involved in a fatal car/pedestrian accident in Scottsdale and family members say this was a tremendous blow to the woman who feels responsible for the death.
They believe she will travel to a scenic area in Northern Arizona, possibly the Fossil Creek area, where she loved to hike.
Bruce would be driving a 2001 gray Jeep Wrangler with an Arizona license plate of B5XYW. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110 pounds with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes.
