new years 2012 run to butcher jones
#1
been reading about all the moaning and groaning out at butch jones so i wanted to see how bad it really was. yes the play hill is closed but hello there is a whole lot more out there to still have fun on.
went out today with a small group and we had a blast. explored some new trails that i had never been on. took trail 8311 to 13 and that lead into cove two. i though we would only be out there a couple hours ended up to be about 5hrs of wheeling.
the views were outstanding and i am kicking myself in the butt for not bringing the canon.
here are a few phn cam shots and i will get somemore from the others later.
butcher jones is still fun don't believe the hype.
thanks to bigt7872 for putting this together. good to wheel with everyone today. rough country brother!

Glad to hear that what is closed isn't much.

actually there are a lot of areas closed but most of those areas were run by quads and bikes but there are a lot of others. coves one and two are the only coves you can go to or that is what i have been told. i want to explore a little more at another time because there are more trails that are marked out there.

Kudos on the trash pickup!

that was part of the reason we lost so many areas also. i am making a habit to keep a bag in the jeep when i am out on trips. one to cover electronics and two for days like today.

Way to go with the trash clean up! I got some really nice reusable trash bags a while back that I try to fill when I go out

Where did you get them Bill?

Thanks for the clean up.
They should have left the play hill. I'd be more pissed if the Nissan could make it up them. Down was always fun for passengers. Nothing 3 wheels better than the X.

Had a great time. Posted photobucket links on the up and coming thread. There are 2 seperate links, one is mine and the other is from jon. Looking forwardto more wheeling with you beast. That was my first time in the jeep. I will remember bags from this time forward, cound't believe how fast you filled that bag.
