Rubicon Oct - 2011
#1
This last weekend I was invited up to a Rubicon Trail run. We left Thursday evening to a sixteen hour trip to Minden, NV. It took that long due to stopping to help people and construction delays. Once in Minden we wrenched on a Toyota crawler for a while and then crashed. The following day was filled with more wrenching and making our way to the Loon lake trailhead. Overall I could not stop smiling and had a great time. I almost forgot.... If anyone wants to plan a trip to the Rubicon in the future, we have a base (garage, tools, sleeping spot, etc) in Minden. Just wanted to throw that out there. Some pics...
Making our way...

How long is the over all drive? Miles? Did you drive the jeep to the trail? Would August Sept be better? Not as cold?

Looks like a blast!

We trailered my Jeep up and I drove it back. Total normal drive time is around 12 hours. One plus to October was not many rigs. We got super lucky as last week there was 10 inches or so of snow. I reallllly want to go back.

I think 33s with one locker could navigate without issue. Depends on driver. I came across a stock rubicon JK that had a few issues, b ut overall did ok.

Did some research on it, and I THINK.. I can do it with with I have now if I added a front locker... which I have, just need to install.
