Bob says hell froze over
#1
Bob says hell froze over and told me welcome to 2010 which was pretty nice considering I've been rocking my LG Chocolate since '07.

I have all the internet I could want at home and work and since Verizon (my current provider) wanted $30 more/mo for just basic 2gb on net whilst keeping my calls and texts at 450per, I kept passing on their "new every two" which now only means a $50 credit and you pretty much have to get a phone with a data plan anyway.

Thanks to a deal member 2ndChance found, I ditched them and took up with Sprint. For $10 more a month, I get unlimited internet, texts, and calls to cells. The credit I get for switching my number cancels out the activation and the cost of the already discounted new smart phone.

So what do I need to know? Do I have to walk around saying things like App and Root.

I know the first thing I'll do is get MyTopo's https://market.android.com/details?id=com.crittermap.backcountrynavigator.license&feature=related_apps
$10 for unlimted access to Topo maps and Aerials used with your GPS for real time tracking. You can download any of the maps as well so it can be used off line too.

I got the dual screen Kyocera Echo which should be good for this type of GPS application.

So what else do you like having on your fancy phone now that I should know about?

Awesome Mike! I will dig up a list of necessary apps. Now you have an excuse to ignore people and not talk. Much less creepy. (Someone repost the smoker, cell phone, creepy child molester comic here)

Wooo hooo! Angry Birds is a great time killer. I also like amazon app store. They give away free apps each day.

Crawl 4x4 provides hours of entertainment. Even on Bob's epiphany toilet. Not that I have been there but I here it is nice.

you should take your LG Chocolate to the antique roadshow. Pretty sure it's a collector's item.

Is this thing on? :)
#7
Why yes, yes it is. Did you screw your phone onto one of the interweb spickets?

So, here's the deal.

The Sprint SERO (Simply Everything Referral Offer) plan is an awesome deal. Here's what you get.

500 anytime minutes
Free Nights/Weekends after 7pm
Unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile to ANY mobile phone in the US.
Unlimited Text
Unlimited DATA
Sprint GPS Navigation
Nationwide long distance
No roaming charges
Sprint Radio
Sprint TV
(tethering isn't included but can be obtained by "rooting" your android phone or downloading June Fabrics internet share).

All for $59.99/mo

If you get a smartphone (android/win7/blackberry), it's $10/mo more.
If you get a 4G phone, it's another $10/mo more. <= I don't recommend getting a 4G phone because Sprint doesn't have 4G service for phones yet. Just mobile broadband devices.

compared to Sprint's standard rate, you save $10 a month + get 50 extra anytime minutes.

You also get the same great deals on equipment.

If you port your number from another carrier (may exclude certain prepaid lines) Sprint will give you a $125 bill credit (offer expires Oct 1, 2011).

To access this site you'll need 3 pieces of info:

New decision to make

HAHA! Thats great. I had a little mishap like that shortly after I got my "smart" phone too. I used the talk to text to send my dad a message and didn't realize that I must have not have annunciated the B in bigger very well as that is NOT what it typed for me! Learned shortly after that there is a setting where you can set it so that it won't type most curse words.

Offroadaz made me download some fancy menu screen aps like desktop visualizer and Android Phone 7 Theme. I started creating some custom icons with images from flickr for my app menu pages. Couple looks so far with both screens open
