I'm about to start my highline fender modification. My question is regarding the airbox... In your writeup you were modifying a jeep with a K&N CAI, however my question revolves around the stock airbox. Does it fit under the trimmed hood once the conversion is complete?

Nope, the stock one wont fit. You dont have to use KN kit, just need something that doesnt use the stock air box

No room
Silversides just ran up to Autozone while we were doing his and grabbed a cheap $15 K&N looking filter and has been running it ever since

I'm not a big fan of the oil bathe filters on an off road vehicle due to previous experiences. By how much does the factory box not clear? Is there enough room to just cut the bottom of the airbox off and reuse the seal/clamps and reroute the intake to the engine side?

I can't attest to how it can be modified to fit. It's been to long.
We were able to lay some things down and re-secure on the driver side fender to gain clearance.

Another question. My current stock fenders are absolutely annihilated. So I've picked up some OEM fenders in great condition. I will need to reshoot them my body color... my question is should I wait until after I bend them to shoot? I'm assuming that's probably the best idea, how much do the fenders bend? Since I'm going to reshoot them anyways, should I weld or cut anything to make it fit/look better?

the paint didnt chip at all when we bent them up
heres another one thats been done, you can see the small crease in the front

I'm currently running 35" KM2's on a 3" BDS suspension short arm / 1.25" JKS BL. Am I going to have any rubbing up front after this, or should I clear everything? Anyone running 37's with 4.25" of lift and the highline?

not a thread hijack, but MAN that's a nice looking rig. Kudos.

haha, I really appreciate it, you're definitely the first person to ever say that. I paid $4,000 for it a month ago, it was an absolute piece of garbage. It had been rolled - cage crooked, doors bent/not functioning/windshield screwed up, not maintained well, D44 in the back was absolutely trashed, the hood and front fenders smashed.. etc... but, it's coming along. After the highline it will be a decent looking vehicle again.

nice youve done a lot to it
for fitting 37's I think you should be okay, but Ive never tried. I have 35's and 3.5 inch of lift and theres lots of room left.

I've got 4.25" total so I'm hoping with the highline 37's will be an option. I have 4.88's in case I decide I want to go bigger.
