Wallow fire relief
#1
The fire is on pace to be the largest in Arizona history, its very close to hitting Springerville/Eagar and the towns are preparing for the worst. Between those 2 cities there are approximately 7,000 residents. They have a real possibility of losing everything they have.

Ive been trying to think of ways we can help out as a group. One of the easiest things we can do is canned food, kids clothes, toys along with baby diapers, wipes and formula. If you have the opportunity please drop them off at Mikes shop. Once the fire is calmed down we will partner with one of the relief organizations up there and donate the items.

Thanks all

We need your help!

We "ENCOURAGE" spectators to bring cans of food with them to VOTE on their favorite vehicle.

The person who dontates the most cans of food will WIN the "BEST OF SHOW" trophy!!!

Please help AZOHVC and the United Food Bank by showing your support and donating cans of food.

^^^^^^^ In reference to the post above, may I please borrow a ZJ to use for a prop to crawl one wheel on top of for the car show? Thank you, Daniel.

you are silly Alan. I think I will tow the CJ up there and show it. It'd be her first car show, and it's for a great cause! Anyone else want to go???

Is there any info on who to contact? Or Do i just show up with a jeep and some canned food?
#5
Just show up with your jeep and canned good. I will forward the invite on FB to you so you can accept.
#6
Awesome! Thank-you sir.

And if you are not showing, you can bring food to pad someone elses chance to win. Best of Show is going to the vehicle that donates the most food. Spectators can add to a vehicles total and whichever vehicle donates the most gets the award!!!!

Why yes, yes we could. I vote for Bob's jeep...

I do plan on being there, I will hopefully get my dad to pull the willys up there, if not I may be begging Bob or someone with a "real" truck. Would love to see other people there!

I am definately there. I have a pretty hairy day at work that day lecturing and then I'll have to high tail it home and jump out of the suit into something more Jeep Worthy, but I'll be there.

My son and I will be there with the CJ but I will be padding the Willys. They started it all and is a daddy to my little heep.

So fellow member 2ndchance is thinking huge on this thing. Not just the car show, but for the non-food items too.
When I say huge, I mean he's talking trailers big. With his networking, he's able to light a fire under some heavy coupon cutters and donators for this. Chris mentioned my shop as a donation center but we need more than that. We need a East side drop and maybe a Central drop as well. We can use my shop for the West side and I'll talk to the LL about using a vacant shop to store overflow. He'll add more to this discussion but he asks that two more locations be added to enhance our valleywide donator participation.

I can offer my office as a drop off if you think its central enough... I am on north Scottsdale by the 101.

And 2nd Chance? You ROCK!

We can use my home as well, I"ll be taking a truck and trailer to the car show anyways so we can fill it up.

Guys. Thanks for offering up your place. The more places we can get, the easier it is for them to donate.

Please PM me your business name, address, and business hours. I will pass this to the Coupon Cutter group and get the ball rolling.

I'm off today and this weekend. I'm going to start organizing with them and get this kicked off.

I just came from my sister's place. She met up with a couple of folks and picked up a LOT of stuff. It's more than my JK will hold. :) Now, just need to find a place to stage all of these collected items.

If anyone is interested we are going to need some assistance at the show. We will need some help to get everyone parked as well as counting cans of food. If you are able to assist please call me at 623-340-0885.

Thanks again for your support!!!!

I'll be out of town. Sounds like you won't even be able to see the jeep with all the cans stacked around it. :)

I might be able to get a trailer for you to use if you need. Mike, let me know.
