CD1 and CD2
#1
Just an update as some of us had old information.

CD1 is on private property and closed to us (I think we all knew that, but I wanted to share). Talks are in discussion to open a path to CD1, but as of right now, it's just totally off limits. There have been other groups still running it and not supporting the private land owner, we will not be one of those groups.

CD2 was a bit of a question, because some of us had info that you could drop in the end of CD1 and go to CD2 and bypass the private land. The updated (new to me, actually, so I'm sharing) intel is that the end of CD1 and entrance to CD2 is on the BLM closed list, so we don't have access there either. For all intents and purposes, CD2 is closed as well and off limits.

Lance, Chirs, and others involved with the AZOHVC are working on getting these open, but until they do, the best thing we can do is share information, stay away from the areas in question, and be good stewards of the land.

Share with all you know and thanks guys.

This may or may not have anything to do with those trails, but I've heard rumors that BLM is NOT posting "road closed" markers on these trails, leaving only word of mouth to keep people off/out of the areas they are closing, is this true?

obviously I don't have a rock crawler, so CD isn't directly what I'm referring to, but there are many other trails they are closing as far as paper work is concerned, but not physically posting them as closed... just curious so I am even more careful then I've been.. don't want to get in trouble and not realize it.

Well yeah, it's completely stupid, if they are to lazy to post it closed there is no way they are going to post it open.. Just another stupid rule they made to make it easier for them to catch people like us running closed trails (without even knowing) and use it against us..

pretty much most of table mesa is marked with the numbered signs. if there is not one of those signs there then stay out.
fj is a different story. there are a lot of closures and unless you go online to see that map there is nothing out there to tell what is open and what is closed. plans to sign that area are more than likely going to be a ways off.
i agree the "if it is not marked open it is closed" policy is stupid. there are a lot of people who run trails and are not on these or boards or go to the blm and other websites for that info. they are the ones who can and are ruining it for us.
vjc had a thread about a group that crossed the fence line to cd1 and when confronted by the land owner flipped him off and continured on their way. these are the ones that are making it tough for us because what land owner treated this way is going to be willing to work with us. this said land owner has been working on getting arrangments made for us to be able to get into cd1 and 2 but how far back had all this been set now because of a few people.
my advice is to plan your trips and make sure that the area is opened. even posting up and asking if this area is ok to run is better then being out on that trail and getting nailed by the blm for being in a closed area.
