The heart of what we call a Jeep (1946 resto)

Very Nice! Congrats!

An old man started telling me about his old Jeep since he knew we had a club. I opened this thread so he could see yours. He loved it and could tell how much work you did. He kept looking for tooling marks on it so he could see what part of the year it was made :)

Then he stole my computer and logged in to his board and said you had to look at his two builds: https://picasaweb.google.com/105754652351830832679/February3201303?authkey=Gv1sRgCMrfyaqQ1OeD9AE

Well, I'm ordering a rear seat, the proper shocks and a new seal for the t-case.. Gonna do an oil change and go over every nut and bolt and it should be KOH ready. Excited to have it out in the dirt.. Curious to see how it holds up lol

And swampers?
#26
lol if you can find me a set for cheap that'll fit, I'll put them on :)

Well, all my parts are here waiting to be installed.. Transfercase was installed yesterday, just need fluid in the Transmission and it should be good to go. Need to finish installing the rear seat, get the shocks installed and do an oil change.

Here's part of the rear bearing that Sun Transmission installed backwards..

The tapered pieces you see on the shaft here is the inside of the bearing pictures above, pressed on backwards...

Case put back together with all new bearings, seals, gaskets (again) and ready to be installed.. Huge shoutout to 4Wheelers for helping us out with parts and several phone calls full of questions.

Jerry (Sun Transmission) can go stick it where the sun don't shine for doing such shitty work and not standing behind it when called out on it. Oh, did I mention he installed the front output shaft bearing backwards as well? Yeah. It happened.

Andrew can go with him for not taking care of his customer.

I now own a $1600 Dana 18.

Avis that sucks. I am sorry to hear about all this. I knew i was bad but I didn't it was that bad. Kudos to you for getting it done right.

Got new shocks on today.... Untitled by Daniel Avis, on Flickr

Then I put my Rigid light bar on the bumper just for KOH so I can see at night..

Got the mounts installed for the rear seat, so all it needs now is some foam and material to cover the foam.. which, for KOH may just be a blanket of sorts.

Nice choice on the Rigid light bar. It seems that the build is in a great progress. what's next after you install the rear seat?

Picked up a roll bar and top for it a while back.. wanted some protection from the rain / sun when I take it up the mountains. Sitting there with no shade sucks while your waiting for the tow strap.... :) I suspect it will be nice to have in Moab as well. Eventually I'll try and find a top that matches the seats.

Bob came over today and we got the locker installed and a few other little items in preparation for Moab.
