Box Canyon 3/27/11

Went out this past Sunday to run a fairly easy trail I haven't done it a few years, my best friend Matt (chevy truck) and my buddy from work (2wd ford) tagged along as well.

First little hill climb of the day, no big deal.

Then we got to the "water fall", really not to hard if hug the right side of it... the jeep walked it like nothing.

Then it was Matts turn, went right down with just a little frame touching, no big deal.

Then it was Justins turn, and yes... that is a 2wd F-150...lol

He needed a little helping hand at the bottom, had he had a posi in the rear it woulda been no problem.

An old house/shack along the way...

This hill and I have a few bad memories together... I stood my old cherokee on it's nose going down the 3rd hill from the left... terrifying. lol But, Matt decided it'd be a good idea to play

Then we all decided it'd be a good idea to come down a different way, just a small ledge... no biggie. Unless, of course you have no lift...then you just sit the truck on it's frame and wait for someone to come get you haha

Of course Justin had to try and show the Chevy up by making it up the hill in 2wd... but no such luck

Well, with the Ford sitting below in shame and the Chevy up top stranded, it was time to show them what jeeps are for.

Drove up, hooked up and pulled him to safety.

Making our way through the canyon, both trucks did well... Matt had issues with the long wheel base.

This was the first chance I had to flex the jeep out and take pictures after installing a budget lift, and taking the sway bar off... i was pretty impressed. Need to trim fenders....lol

And then... literally the last obstacle of the entire trail/road Justin decided to play chicken with a boulder....the boulder won.

So, I don't have pictures... but I had to turn around in the canyon, I managed to fit the jeep between his truck and the giant boulder to the right, only touched his truck a couple times... pulled him back, and moved the boulder...

It was a fun day! Wanting to go back out there and run some more trails and explore a bit.. no breakage and beautiful weather.

Looks like a good time although I have to question your choice of vehicles and their capability out there...... Glad it went well

With SY, where those both 2 wheel drive rigs?

The Ford was the only 2wd, wanted to prove to ourselves we could get one through there haha Did really well actually, the only time I had to strap him was when he hit that boulder.

And for the record, MY choice of vehicle and it's capability far exceeded that trail...

I should of re-worded that, not questioning YOUR choice of vehicle but the choice of vehicles you went out with.....

I've run BC a 100x over and most of the time it was in 2wd. Its just not that big of a deal... I have also taken a stock 96 F350 4door long bed 4x4 down that trail. That was a little work...

Glad you had a good time

Meh, I don't see why. Easy trail, 2wd worthy, nothing broke, no trail damage, no biggie.

LOL True that.

Actually, every time I see this section I picture Bob as ballast on my XJ when Ivan questioned my manhood on which line to take. : )

(Man... I just went back to look at that tread... its was March of 08 when Bob went Boom and I ran with Geoff for the first time... over three years ago. Where does time go, fellas?)
